Purchasing/Logistics Coordinator

Our client, ThyssenKrupp Elevator (Canada), is an international leader in elevator installations, modernization and maintenance of all types of elevator systems.  They are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join their Burnaby team in a Logistical Support role.

This is a newly created position that requires an individual with excellent attention to detail and communication skills, both verbal and written.  As an integral part of a Project focused team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling, organization and procurement of all incoming and outgoing components related to specific Projects.  The successful candidate will have experience with the technical components of trades (electrical, mechanical, tools) and have a good understanding of basic purchasing techniques.

Hours:  Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Shipping/Receiving and preparation of Internal Documents (Work Orders, etc.).
  • Preparing project related materials and tools in advance for assigned Project Crews.
  • Tracking and organization of tools.
  • Loading/Unloading and organizing product assigned to projects efficiently and ensuring products meet quality standards.
  • Project Material Control and Management.
  • Ensuring a clean and safe warehouse environment.
  • Data entry & updating the purchasing system.
  • Approve invoices, including the verification of information & prices.
  • Prepare purchase orders.
  • Other warehouse duties as assigned.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 years of warehouse and purchasing experience.
  • Experience with Trades.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office and quick to pick up on other programs (Oracle).
  • Superior time management and organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize under limited supervision.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to multi-task within a fast paced environment.
  • Current Forklift Certification (or ability to obtain one).
  • Attention to detail, especially ensuring specific steps are followed to complete a task.
  • Be a team player willing to perform hands-on tasks to get the job done while bringing a positive attitude to the workplace.
  • Valid Driver’s License as some local travel may be required.
