Our client, Make Your Mark Training & Consulting (MYM) (www.mymsuccess.com) has an exciting opportunity for a Graphic Designer to join their dynamic team in South Surrey.  MYM lives by the tagline “Business with Soul“, which simply means doing business with Heart in a way that makes a positive impression on all those that your business impacts.

As a key member of the marketing team, this role is responsible for creating design solutions with high visual impact. This newly created position is required to work across a variety of products, including print and digital advertising, promotion and marketing as well as signage, corporate identity, exhibitions and packaging.

The ideal candidate must be comfortable working within MYM guidelines while also being able to creatively step outside the box to develop creative, engaging work for the company.


  • To produce and monitor all marketing communication related to the company.
  • Act as Brand Champion and maintain all marketing assets to ensure Brand compliance.
  • Consistent quality control of production through to print/e-distribution. To also assist with relevant and timely updates.
  • Proactively promote all potential sources within the company, including events & activities, which lead to increased exposure through in-house marketing tools, i.e. but not limited to, Website and Newsletter.
  • Multi-task and re-prioritize to meet short deadlines for last-minute promotional opportunities.
  • To assist with in-house communications to inform activities and future plans for both internal and external customers.
  • Assist with implementation of the annual & monthly Marketing, Advertising & PR Plan and reports, as directed.
  • To develop ideas and participate in the preparations of promotional theme events and promotional activities.
  • Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
  • Prepares finished copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment; purchasing from vendors.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment.
  • Completes projects by coordinating with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies.
  • Identify specific pieces of collateral required to support operational departments, working with in house design programs and/or agencies to create on-brand content in line with strategies, proof checking to a high degree of accuracy.
  • Monitor review sites, responding to student reviews in a pre-set time limit and liaise with DOM in responding to critical reviews while auditing sites to see trends and areas of opportunity.
  • Take day to day responsibility for the management of the company website working closely with the team to continuously enhance the digital landscape with tasks including but not limited to PPC, emailers, optimization and day to day updates).
  • Ensure that all deadlines are met, and each edition is delivered to a pre-agreed timing plan with the DOM.
  • Work closely with relevant media bloggers and PR contacts for exposure.


Proficient with following marketing and creative software:

  • Adobe CS4, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, etc.;
  • Multimedia-rich design (video & animation editing);
  • Web design / Basic HTML;
  • Photography / videography skills; and
  • Typography.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a graphic design role in any of the following industries: media, advertising, design, marketing communications, corporations.
  • Diploma/degree in Graphic Design from an accredited post-secondary educational institution.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Social Media/Video/Animation graphics qualifications.
  • Knowledgeable about file conversions (PDF, mpg, JPEG, TIFF, EPS, ae, mp3, mp4, avi).
  • Ability to effectively, prioritize, and manage a high-volume of tasks, deadlines, and requirements.
  • Exceptional people and interpersonal skills - ability to build effective relationships with all levels of professionals.
  • Proven commitment to accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent command of the English language both written and verbal.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, professional team player.
