Field Supervisor-Concrete Operations

Our client, Pacific Site Constructors (www.pacificsite.org), has an immediate requirement for an experienced Field Supervisor to lead their onsite concrete supply operations for a project in North Vancouver.

Reporting to the on-site Project Manager, the ideal candidate will be familiar with a variety of the field concepts, practices, and procedures of ready-mix concrete operations. You will need to be able to perform and/or oversee a variety of complicated tasks such as major maintenance and repair of related equipment. Must have experience in ready-mix concrete and heavy equipment maintenance or have an industrial electrical background.

Pacific Site Constructors is an integrated engineering and material supply contractor. Their work in the Western Canada market has led them to work across multiple industries including, wind power, hydroelectric power, industrial and other infrastructure work.

This is a one-year, full time position with potential for ongoing work following the end of this project.


  • Daily scheduling of crews (6-12), equipment and labour.
  • Manage all on-site activities; ensuring daily operations are executed in a safe, timely and efficient manner while maintaining quality assurance.
  • Financial responsibility. Labour costs, equipment repairs and damage costs.
  • Perform daily supervision of personnel and equipment.
  • Weekly and monthly review and understanding of project job costing and project budgets.
  • Completion of reporting and safety inspections.
  • Practice sound selection and hiring procedures.
  • Keep daily cost records, quantities, and employee time records.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety and environmental policies in all work environment areas.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all health and safety rules and regulations.
  • Conduct daily and weekly Safety meetings and inspections with crews.
  • Maintaining an organized job site.
  • Performing other duties as required and requested by Senior Management.


  • Previous experience as a concrete batch plant operator.
  • 5 years ready mix or heavy equipment maintenance (construction) experience.
  • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Must have understanding of construction terms, scheduling and planning concepts.
  • Tradesperson background preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and managing priorities.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to solve issues, in a team environment, in a calm and effective manner.
  • Must be willing and able to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Valid Class 3 Driver’s license and clean abstract. Class 1 Driver’s license preferred.
